The Tu-160 is a Soviet supersonic variable-geometry strategic bomber developed by the Tupolev Design Bureau. It is the largest supersonic aircraft in history, called by its pilots the "White Swan". The two internal fuselage bays can hold up to 40 tons of weapons, including several types of guided missiles, guided and free-fall bombs, and nuclear weapons. The Tu-160 made its first flight on December 18, 1981.
